Currently, with the support of the JDC Grid programme, we are developing a training course that will give people with disabilities the opportunity to develop skills that are not related to a specific field but are important for successful work.
To ensure that this training really focuses on the needs that are relevant to our job seekers and that are needed in the competitive sector, we thought we should first assess existing knowledge and needs.
The first step is to create a questionnaire that takes 10-15 minutes to complete! If you are a person with a disability, please support our work by filling in a form so that we can develop the training that is most needed. The deadline for completing the questionnaire is 2021. 9 March. and can be found HERE.
What we have seen in our work over the past year and a half is that there are 3 pillars to successful employment in Jambaks from the employee’s perspective. One is foreign language skills, another is expertise in a field, and the third is soft skills – how well someone communicates, problem-solves, organises their work and fits in with the work team. Our current participatory research aims to understand these latter skills.
