The Skilly Career Academy is a comprehensive training program that offers a variety of development opportunities for people with disabilities and people with reduced work capacity, taking into account their individual needs and requirements.

Expand your potential by taking part in our skills and professional training courses and develop your skills with us.

The Career Academy offers quality, accessible training courses and sessions free of charge or at a reasonable price. The programs are interactive, in small groups or individually, in a safe environment where participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and not be afraid to ask questions about the topic.

The Career Academy’s training team is inclusive: in most of the training sessions, one of the trainer pairs is a professional with disability.

Professional training

Our ever-expanding range of training courses will give you the basics of professions that will increase your chances of getting a good job in the open labor market.

Upcoming professional training courses in spring 2024:

  • Project Manager and Data Analyst
  • Financial administration

Career mentoring

We offer free, career-focused mentoring for participants in our vocational training courses, where candidates can work with experienced volunteer mentors to refine their applications and get useful advice on how to succeed in a job or get ahead in their careers.

Skills development training

The free, open training courses will help you acquire skills and abilities that, although not linked to a specific profession, are essential for successful job placement and integration into the workplace. Here you can gather ammunition for the challenges of the open labor market.
In small, interactive group sessions, we learn together about topics such as communicating special needs, speaking in front of others, writing a strong CV, or conflict management. You’ll learn what helps you communicate effectively with people, how to be more confident in a challenging communication situation, or how to stand up in a job interview.

Community programs

We offer our registrants a fully accessible and colorful program of fun activities: quiz nights, board games, improvisation games, and other interactive opportunities. Our aim is to give you the opportunity to relax, make valuable contacts, and above all, we want you to feel free and have fun.

English language training

We are constantly working to offer free or discounted language learning opportunities to our registrants because we know how important it is to have a confident command of a language to find a decent job.

How can you join the Career Academy?

The social context of the Career Academy

People with disabilities have limited access to expensive, high-quality training and there are few barrier-free courses. Because of their low ability to pay, they do not become marketable actors and thus do not benefit from market solutions, often not prioritizing their diverse access needs.

Those who are not visible on the open labor market often work in jobs with a lower status (e.g. kitchen help, cleaning) than their qualifications and skills would allow. Unemployment or these type of jobs increase their isolation, they are barely visible to society, often those who work are not visible social actors.

One innovative solution is the Career Academy.
