Who are we looking for and why is it good for You?

We are looking for volunteer English speakers, who are keen to give one or more English classes for groups of three-four persons, thus helping our clients to have higher chances in finding employment. The English sessions are designed for young adults with sensory disabilities, physical or psychosocial disabilities. The participants are all in the process of career incubation at Jamba and have a basic knowledge of English.

  • We are looking for creative & flexible minds with a can-do attitude, who speak English fluently or are native speakers;
  • We prefer if you speak some Hungarian, but it is not a precondition;
  • You can have a direct contribution to developing the English language skills of our future Jamba Heroes;
  • You can work as team member in our ESL programme, and you can contribute to supporting our clients in finding employment that is essential for their social inclusion;
  • We provide you the course agenda, the study materials and support you in accessible teaching. Of course, we welcome your ideas and are happy to implement them!

Location and schedule of the ESL classes

The ESL classes ideally take place once or twice a week, depending on your availability. All classes are online now, so you do not even need to be in Budapest to take part. We are using Zoom that is accessible and easy to use for everyone.

How can you apply?

If you are interested, please send us your CV to info@jambajobs.org. Please mention how many lessons you would be available to give during a two months period and share with us a few thoughts regarding your motivation.

About our ESL programme

We have experienced that although our clients are motivated, committed and ready to get a job, they lack certain skills to be successful. One of these missing skills is the English knowledge. We would like to support our clients in refreshing and improving their English. This way they can increase their chances of getting a job and becoming a successful team member at companies, for which communication in English is a must.

This work is made possible thanks to a grant from @JDC.
