You told us. Thank you!

Because I am caring for a relative, I can only take online courses at the moment, so this is an important opportunity for me. My aim is to increase my chances of finding a job by learning the language. I have previously studied English in a school setting.

I really liked the interactive group work and the fact that a different teacher taught each lesson and we worked on one area in detail.

The change I have noticed since starting the course is that I have become much more motivated to learn independently and plan to go to International House for further training.

What is your goal in learning English?

My goal in learning English is the joy of communicating in English, and the intensive and intense online courses at International House have transformed my intrinsic motivation.

How have you learned English so far?

I never studied English in primary or secondary school. Instead, I studied German and later French. During my university years, I tried a beginner’s course in English but found the pace and method too fast and dry. Later I found an online course package, but it lacked feedback on where I was at. I was always missing something.

What’s your best experience of an English course?

The first time with International House was a real deep water experience, it was the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had. I met students and teachers of different nationalities in the online space and it was a shocking experience to have them understand what I wanted to express.

What makes International House a good language school?

Imagine that there were Turkish, Japanese, African, Chinese, and, of course, Hungarian students in the class, while the teachers included Swedish, Russian, Chinese, and Italian. I don’t have to travel to London to meet different accents. Everyone speaks English differently, and the teachers are professionals, and each teacher has a different approach to the same subject.

What has changed in you/your English since you started the course?

I was really looking forward to this opportunity, but I was also a bit afraid of it. I was pleased to see that the method is playful here. I am communicating much more confidently. I’m making good, steady progress and, most importantly, I’ve had a language breakthrough here. I communicate with courage, letting go of fear. The next step for me is to pay more attention to grammar. This is a huge step forward! Thank you for this opportunity, words cannot express how happy I am. I will continue the course next week, thanks to Skilly and the International House team.
