The staff of M1’s Chance programme also noticed the Jambok 🙂

Find out who we are, what we do, meet a face of Jambás, Gábor Bocskai, and get an insight into the work of one of our key partners, BETALAB.

Transcript of the video:

Jamba Hungary’s dedicated team wants to create equal opportunities in the labour market for people with disabilities. – reporter

We support people with disabilities in their career development, while also preparing employers on how to welcome and accommodate workers with disabilities. – Sári Pásztor

Gábor Bocskai, a young scientist working in cognitive research, met Jamba staff a year and a half ago, who were in contact with the BetaLab research team. – reporter

I met Jamba at an educational conference where I was giving a presentation about my life so far, and afterwards I was told that there might be some opportunities in the lab. – Gábor Bocskai

Through Jamba Hungary, Gábor has been a BetaLab employee for a year now. – reporter

For me, my long-term plan is to do a PhD, and the fact that I came to the Professors is a prerequisite for that. – Gábor Bocskai

Through this collaboration, Jamba staff get to know the jobseeker’s personality, strengths, skills and goals. Reporter

How does Jamba help?

We think that they are the best people to tell us how they want to work, in what job and how much they want to earn. We help you to find, package and communicate these messages in a way that your business partners can receive, and to find the right business partner for each person’s needs. – Sári Pásztor

Among other services, Jamba offers individual counselling, training and a mentoring programme. – reporter

Our experience is that many of them lack some kind of qualification, language skills for example, so we try to assess the qualifications of those who apply to us and start a dialogue with companies. And we try to bridge those gaps somehow, either through training, or through some kind of career guidance or individual counselling, to make it as easy as possible for them to find each other. – Zsófia Szabó

Gábor is a research assistant at BetaLab, led by Professor Dr. Ilona Kovács. – reporter

What does the Betalab team do?

The whole group deals with adolescent development, by which we mean that we deal with participants from 10 to 23 years of age who are involved in our studies. What we are primarily interested in is that in this age group, about which very little is known is really known, how not only age but also biological maturity on different psychological functions. – Dr. Ilona Kovács

The current research I’m involved in now is the use of sleep spindles inside the brain topographic location and, where appropriate, migration. – Gábor Bocskai

The head of the research team is very pleased with the work of his young colleague. – reporter

It inspires a sense of respect, I think, in all of us for the his perseverance and attitude, for example, that he has come this far, that he has come to us, that he wants to work. To simply do those analyses and by that we mean analysing 128 channel EEG full night recordings, to do them and to give us us usable results, to participate in group meetings after a year, to have useful and independent comments. So I would say he is fully integrated into the group. And what is a particular reward for me about Gabor’s presence is really the serenity of him being with us. Dr. Ilona Kovács
