We have had an eventful year, expanding the team, reorganising responsibilities, improving services for the Jambas and business partners, launching a new community programme, building new relationships and nurturing existing ones – with start-up, business, NGO and Pro Bono partners.

New staff recruited to the Jamba, we are trying to grow, but in a prudent way. The new team members are Sára Boncsér, project manager and trainer, Anna Csenki, event organiser, Róbert Ormódi, who regularly volunteers his time to help with our communication, and Andrea Benyes-Szöllősy, the new person in charge of financial administration. Our team is currently half and half made up of people with disabilities and able-bodied people.
Alongside them, an expert, inclusive, volunteer team of 22 people (participative experts, lawyers, communication and marketing professionals, photographers, IT people, English teachers) work continuously to achieve the Foundation’s goals and we have trained 14 more volunteer mentors this year to support jobseekers individually. Together with them, the Jamba team is complete, their work contributes to the building and sustainability of the organisation and to the quality of our services, and is therefore indispensable.
In spring the
JDC
supported by the Buncher Programme, we travelled to Israel, where we met social enterprises and NGOs working in the same field and learned about sustainability through good examples.
Results, impact
With the help of Jamba this year
7 people
found permanent, well-paid and high-quality jobs with our partners (22 in total so far), they are the ‘tip of the iceberg’. In doing so, we strengthen the skills others lack and develop their competitiveness in many ways, so that they too can move towards the ‘top’.
This year, we received 90 new job applications, of which 82 were supported through a range of career development services:
- 49 people participated in soft skill training;
- software tester training for 19 people;
- and 14 in individual mentoring.
Together with them, we have already been in regular contact with 233 people with a disability and 173 people have participated in skills and competence development and vocational training.
From the various training programmes we have developed and tested, the “Jamba Career Academy” concept is starting to emerge, aiming to build a complex training programme that increases competitiveness by offering individual career paths for jobseekers with disabilities and people with a disability.
We started implementing two projects this year
- With the aim of community building, recruitment and awareness raising, we have launched a new series of community events called “Jamba Prizma”-t the
Mozaik Hub
with the support of. As part of this project, we held our first event on World Disability Day this year, where we are working with Roma, LGBTQ and Jewish minority organisations to find common ground and work together towards a more inclusive society.
- Together with the international Jamba network, we have been awarded an Erasmus+ grant (2021-2-AT01-KA210-ADU-000049756) to support the “Career 4All Train the Trainer Academy”-We started implementing the project. This year, together with our Bulgarian and Austrian partners, we produced a methodology material for people with disabilities, employers and trainers, and developed and delivered a 9-session online mentoring training. 8 trained volunteer mentors will start working together in 2023. in January with 1-1 young people with disabilities to provide them with personalised support to achieve their career goals.
