A special and meaningful second year for Jamba. We would like to tell you about what has been happening around our house this year. Another challenging and successful year is behind us. In this post, you can read how we are developing, topic by topic.
Strategy & self-development
Continuing to adapt to the circumstances of the second Covid year, we have placed a strong emphasis on organisational development this year. We produced strategic documents – a social context study was carried out, which helped us to understand the systemic problem and identify areas for strategic planning. To support strategic development, the team has received strategic, resource, marketing and leadership development during the year from Mozaik Hub, NGO Academy and the
Seed Foundation
thanks to the support of. Thank you!
Important new partnerships
In February 2021, we entered into a strategic partnership with Coca-Cola HBC
#myfuture
programme, under which
self-awareness training sessions
and tailored the #YourFuture curriculum to the needs of our target group, and 84 people with disabilities and people with a disability who want to develop their careers participated in a total of 10 career development training sessions during the year. More info about our cooperation

A
Corvinus Science Shop
-thanks to the Corvinus Master of Marketing students, we have designs for a communication and media campaign, creative and cool materials were produced, we would like to use as much of them as possible next year.
A
MOME Service Design Expert
have brought us a strategic design perspective on how to communicate effectively with companies and build partnerships with the primary labour market. It was a defining experience for us that they were open to continue the conversation at the end of the process and to engage the Jamboks in thinking together about the future.
A
Greendex
is a
a joint new column
to enable authors with disabilities and people with disabilities to publish on social sustainability issues that affect them.
A series of workshops offering new professional knowledge
After more than a year of research and preparation, this year in December 2021 we will launch our software testing workshop series, which will be held at the
Prezi
and
SignCoders
-Together we planned, organised and built. Eight people with disabilities will start participating in the first knowledge transfer series, and through this collaboration we want to help them acquire skills that will make them truly competitive in the primary labour market. In connection with the collaboration, we attended the Stretch Leadership and Management International Conference Meetup, where we
we were able to demonstrate Jamba’s solutions
and this joint innovation.
Projects
We successfully completed two projects this year.
With the support of the NSZI in the framework of the FOF2020 project
we successfully completed our Tandem Mentor Program
, which, based on a methodology developed for training volunteer mentors, culminated this year in the training of 10 volunteer mentors and the close and successful cooperation with 10 mentors with disabilities. The mentors were able to help the mentees who needed support on their career path, taking into account their individual needs and following our participative, partnership approach.
Thanks to JDC Grid’s grant, we were able to continue our English classes, launching two new groups, and this year 12 people with disabilities were supported by volunteer English teachers to improve their English language skills. We developed a series of soft skills workshops based on participatory research, tested two modules (communicating about disability and public speaking), recruited jobseekers with disabilities, and developed a series of seven videos to help people with disabilities to understand the
video campaign
about successful Jambas, which contribute to a positive image of people with disabilities and to shaping social attitudes.
Social enterprise
This year, we have developed and structured the Employers’
business services for employers
, some elements of which have been tested in
at the Bálint House
. We have built relationships with smaller Hungarian and multi-national companies who are open to partnering with us to build a more socially sustainable Hungary by employing people with disabilities. We look forward to further developing these relationships and building new ones next year!
Jamba in numbers
So far, 15 people with a disability who have been in contact with JAMBA have found a job, at the end of the year we are in contact with 157 jobseekers, we have built good cooperation with 13 workplaces and 91 jobseekers have participated in skills and competences development and vocational training.
This year, an inclusive team of 4 people worked on the implementation of the Foundation’s objectives, Zsófia Szabó, client specialist, Éva Jásper, social and business development specialist, Sára Pásztor, remedial teacher, cognitive neuroscientist and implementation manager and Zóra Molnár, social psychologist, participative researcher and public policy expert. The day-to-day activities and services are supported by 18 other volunteers, who enrich the team with their expertise and dedication in the fields of communications, law, finance, marketing, architecture, humanities, sociology, IT, design, GDPR, without whom we would not be where we are today.
Jamba base
The Foundation’s office continues to be supported by JDC in the
Mosaic Hub
community office, which is barrier-free and inclusive and where we feel part of a vibrant and active civic community every day.
