In February this year, the first <\/span>software testers<\/b> who were using the <\/span>
\n Prezi<\/b>
\n<\/a>-and <\/span>
\n SignCoders<\/b>
\n<\/a>-who have participated in our training course, which we have developed and developed together with Preciso and PreCode. <\/span> <\/p>\n

This is the first vocational skills transfer programme of JAMA, which provides concrete skills, abilities and knowledge that are a good entry point at junior level into the open labour market, including the IT sector. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Four out of eight participants have graduated, two of them are already employed as junior software testers and two are still looking for a job. And a fifth got a job on the way, where he can use the skills he has acquired in the meantime in a software testing workshop.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

We believe it is very important that market players take responsibility for improving the competitiveness of people with disabilities. They can bring the professional approach and high quality knowledge needed in the competitive sector. Only together can we close the gap between the skills, knowledge and expectations of people with disabilities and the needs, opportunities and expectations of the open labour market. So together we can work for a more inclusive and just society and go beyond individual successes to make a real difference at systemic level. <\/span><\/p>\n

Annam\u00e1ria Szab\u00f3<\/strong>, one of the participants of the first software testing workshop, was hired by Prezi as a tester in their QA team, where she has been working for 4 months now. Annamari’s experience of the programme:<\/div>\n

“I was very happy to hear that Jamba is organizing the course in collaboration with Prezi and Sign Coders, because I had read good things about them before.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop gave me an opportunity I had never dreamed of before.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Prezi, they are very nice to me, they accept me completely and support me to do my best, to be successful and to learn the trade. <\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop provided a good basis for this. I really enjoyed the fact that the course material is in English and the lessons are in Hungarian, because everything in the IT world is English anyway, but it’s very useful to get the details explained in my mother tongue when I’m starting out. <\/span><\/p>\n

We also got a taste of the specific language used in software development and saw that the terms often humorously refer to the task they are used for (e.g. scrum maser, smoke test).<\/span><\/p>\n

At the beginning of each lesson, we went over a little of what we had learned in the previous lesson and had the opportunity to apply the theory by thinking together through live, practical examples.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was very useful to be able to listen back and watch the recordings. Sometimes I was ill, so I couldn’t participate fully, but I had the material later, I didn’t miss it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We were also introduced to Slack, a super forum for working online. More direct and faster than sending e-mails, its usefulness was ultimately more practical. <\/span><\/p>\n
